This place is super cool! You must be a bit patient outside, but holy MOLE is it worth it. Guac was okay, enchiladas were insanely good. Insider tip: ask for a mole sampler to enjoy the goodness!

We are visiting from Texas. The home of Mexican food and lots of it. BUT this place actually out ranks any restaurant we have been to in Texas. Wow so tasty! Their Mole sauces are out of this world. Their Queso is a must to order! Will definitely come back here if we visit again

Beautiful ambiance, fun, friendly, affordable, has large tables available for groups, SUPER tasty food, and almost enough parking. A DEFINITE do again. I ate at the location by the RR tracks.

Everything we ordered was phenomenal. If I could dock a half star for the chips, I would, my true review would be 4.5 stars. Here's what we got, and here's what we loved! Killer nachos, my favorite nachos in Utah! Chile verde, chorizo, jalapeños, guac, freaking amazing. The chips in the nachos are different than the chips and salsa. The poblano plate, a little of everything, chicken entomatada, great, taco and tostada, great! The Mexican plate, with a Chile verde burrito, hard shell beef taco and tostada. The Chile verde here is out of this world delicious. Camarones Sonora- garlic butter shrimp, was incredible. Flavorful and perfectly cooked. Chicken and shrimp fajitas are perfect, nothing was left behind. The beans and rice are so good, tortillas are amazing. Great quality. It was my husbands birthday and they gave us a little tres leches cake. Loved it. Service here is the best!

When I was at SLC airport I was told that this was the place to go to by two different people. Since I was hungry, I figured I should check it out. When I arrived, there were a few people outside. I was really hoping that the people were leaving and just hanging out chatting. The only unfortunate thing was they were also waiting to be seated. It took approximately 30-35 minutes to be seated. I was ok with that because I ended up talking to some really nice people. Once I was seated, I was brought a glass of water, chips and salsa. I have a major weakness for chips and salsa and they were good! I ordered the Tacos a La Iguana and asked if they could make it with shredded chicken instead of beef and they did. I was very happy with my meal. Definitely worth coming to and will be back in a couple days.

Got the Red Iguana combo plate. Price: Excellent!!! It literally comes in a foil tray with chips/dip and rice/beans. It can easily feed 3 people. All this for $22. I'm from Los Angeles and you can't find prices like this over here. Flavor: Pretty good! Not super salty and heavy. I liked all the items. A bit heavy on the sour cream though. Service: Fast and efficient. We did take out.

The red iguana is clearly a five. It is certainly one of the best Mexican restaurants I've ever enjoyed. Emphasis on enjoyed. From the cool outside vibe, including my 45 minute weight which wasn't bad and was well worth it. I was a single and the appropriate table had to open up and I do not discount that reality. The outside host was extremely cool and it was easy to occupy myself and they were plenty of benches to sit on. The hotel next-door is a rush, especially the pool area. once inside the staff was extremely attentive. In addition to Marjorie, my server, the rest of the staff was very great. In fact, the owner came by and said hello. Marjorie was someone who I believed I could trust for some reason. I'm glad I did often times they order the same things this time I put myself in her hands and she was a rockstar. Short, I recommend the Cadillac margarita, I recommend the sampler, I preferred the almond mole, which looked red to me, but wasn't pumped the pumpkin. The Puntas De Filete a La Nortena was recommended, and I went for it. It was unbelievably great. They were two separate moles in the dish. The vegetables and meat were ample. The meat was melted in my mouth, I could not finish the entire meal. It's worth noting that the food was so good that I went in for a single meal and left with a shopping bag full of takeout that I plan to take with me on the plane

As far as Mexican goes in SLC, this is the place to go. If you go during peak dinner time, there may be a 10-20 minute wait. Service was SUPER quick and the servers were nice. If you're an out of towner coming from a city with a good Mexican food scene, then this place is going to be good but nothing special (I can see how locals love it though).

Came at 6 PM on a Tuesday and the sit-down wait was about 45 minutes so we ended up doing to-go and eating in the car. The food took about 25 minutes after we ordered. Fantastic enchiladas suizas --portion size was reasonable and the mole poblano was smoky with plenty of filling in the tortilla. Arroz con leche was great too, can be cold or warm. We got it warm for a rainy day and it was creamy and sweet.

Give this 4 and 1/2 stars. Make a reservation for this place, it's always packed. I like eating at the OG Location, it's more nostalgic, but the menu is the same at both locations. Service was great, friendly and fast. Hubby did a combination plate and I did the sirloin tips with almond mole. You can get a mole flight and see which one you like most. For us we loved the coloradito the most.
